OPI Powder Dip Tutorial

Updated: Jun 25, 2020

All you need to know!

Let me start off by saying that I am by no means a professional manicurist! I have been doing my own nails for a few years. I started by using a gel set with a UV light that I purchased from amazon. I liked it a lot except for the fact that it never lasted me more than 5-6 days MAX. I liked that I could easily peel them off without damaging my nails.

One day while in CVS I saw a KISS brand dip powder. I bought it and didn't try it out for months later. It was cool but I could tell the quality wasn't superior however I did appreciate the long lasting polish it gave me so I decided to invest in something better and along came OPI.

I ordered 3 dip colors along with the base, activator and top coat polish from: https://nailcompany.com/collections/opi-dip-powders I highly recommend purchasing the bondaid polish that OPI sells. I believe it helps the powder stay on even longer and provide a great base. I love this website, my order came in two days and professionally wrapped to prevent any potential leaking.

Below is a very quick tutorial of how I did my nails. Make sure you cut your nails down, file and buff them and wash them before starting. I also push my cuticles back (I am not into cutting them unless they are still visible after pushing them back).

(I do not owe the rights to this song).

As you can see the process is super simple and easy. Like I said above, I am by NO means a professional-licensed manicurist but I do take pride in doing my own nails and not giving up any time of my precious day to the nail salon, (I will for a pedi though)!

I really like how long these lasted on my nails and I was able to remove them easily without acetone and didn't damage my nails (insert happy dance here). The first time I used OPI powder dip, my nails lasted me almost 2 weeks long and that was without using the BondAid! I was highly impressed. I also really liked the hard shiny look it gave my nails. Needless to say, I am SOLD!

Let me know if you have any questions! I am always happy to answer :-)
